My favorite episode is a two part episode in the end of season six and goes into the very start of season seven. This episode is like a detective based episode where everybody is drawing to conclusions on who shot Mr Burns.
The reason why everybody suspects someone else was because Mr Burns took away Springfield's sunlight, stole the oil from the Springfield Elementary, fired his personal assistant, forgot Homer Simpson's name various times, monopolized the energy market, and a lot more reasons.
I don't want to spoil the plot of the episode but the people of Springfield eventually found out who shot Mr Burns.
This was me when I found out who shot Mr Burns |
Here we have the entire town around the crime scene |
You might be wondering, why do you like this episode and what makes it so great. Lucky for you, I want to share what aspects of this episode are great
My favorite part of this episode is how creative this episode was. I really like it when a show decides to take huge risks and either be successful, or put their entire show down the drain.
I really like mystery shows sometimes. It maintained the comical hilarity that the Simpsons is known for and created a theme of suspense and mystery at the same time which I really appreciate.
If the Simpsons are known for one thing, it's how comically humorous the show is and this episode didn't lack any of that. Some examples of this humor was when Homer Simpson read a thank you letter from Mr Burns only to find out that his name wasn't in the note. His pupils got very small and yelled out what Ned Fladers, Homer's neighbor, thinks to be the loudest curse word he's ever heard. The first time I watched this episode, I was crying of laughter.
After much consideration on whether or not I reccomend this episode to you (I only spent 15 seconds thinking this through) I highly reccomend that you watch this episode and I want to give this episode a 9.75/10. It was a risky approach for the show and they followed through and made this episode one of the most iconic episodes in the entire frachise in my opinion.
